Epic Odyssey for Friendship

The epic attempt to make it to Panama and visit her friend continues. Despite spending all day negotiating, fighting, cajoling, pleading, appealing, and lots and lots of waiting, she still sits at Atlanta airport. The Air transportation system is broken very badly. The backlog of passengers trying to get to Panama grows, the flights are completely overwhelmed and yet the airline doesn't add another plane to the mix to clear out the mess. 22 people were in line for standby on the only flight to Panama. Erin and Christy were numbers 7 & 8 and they didn't make it on. All the other flights in all the other carriers were booked solid. Another night in Atlanta. She is going to try standby again tomorrow which means another day spent in Atlanta airport waiting. The first guaranteed flight out is Tuesday night. Friendship can be a very costly thing.
