Silence
I just realized that I have not posted here for a while. That is because our son, Reid, to whom the book Five Miles from Home is dedicated, has passed from this life and is now delightfully celebrating in the presence of his loving, heavenly Father. Over the past few weeks our attention has been on him. His battle with pneumonia and his passing were posted on his blog so that our friends and his fans could be praying. it's been an incredibly busy but fruitful summer here and I've not been on the blog scene much at all. Only now am I catching up on my reading and am saddened to now learn of Reid's death. Although I've never met your family, I've been blessed by all of you, including Reid, nonetheless.
My heart goes out to you and Diane especially because I've seen how difficult it is for parents to lose their children. But I also rejoice with you in that we have a merciful and gracious God and his promise of the resurrection with an eternity of fellowship with him for his children. I look forward to meeting Reid on that day.
